JERICHO, NY, July 10, 2003 — WE: Women's Entertainment's critically acclaimed series WHEN I WAS A GIRL returns for a third installment with four shows featuring such celebrated women as Marcia Gay Harden, Lily Taylor, Tori Amos, Macy Gray, Kathy Griffin and many more.
Launching Sunday, September 7 at 10:00 PM, and airing every Sunday during the month of September, this new chapter in the WHEN I WAS A GIRL season kicks-off with a profile of famous women from the world of comedy. Additionally, this season, WHEN I WAS A GIRL will host a special episode showcasing the women from the highly anticipated independent film CASA DE LOS BABYS. This episode will be followed by a half-hour special on the making of this film.
Produced by Linda Ellerbee's Lucky Duck Productions, WHEN I WAS A GIRL showcases high-profile women of all ages and backgrounds who reveal personal stories from their childhood. While their stories are different, collectively they illustrate a common theme… these women were all once little girls with big dreams. In conjunction with the premiere of the series, Simon & Schuster will release a book based on this critically acclaimed program. The book features candid insight into the early years of remarkable women including Sandra Bullock, Melanie Griffith, India.Arie, Sigourney Weaver, Ellen DeGeneres, Angela Bassett, Ashley Judd, Candace Bushnell, Anna Quindlen and Edie Falco. A portion of proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to charity.
