SUNRISE, FL — June 5, 2001–Fox Sports Net Florida today announced that ratings in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale market for Florida Marlins telecasts on FSN are up nearly 70% through May as compared to a year ago.
According to Nielsen Media Research, Marlins telecasts on Fox Sports Net have received an average cable household rating in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale of 2.82 through May 31. Through May last season, cable ratings for Marlins games stood at 1.66. One cable ratings point represents more than 11,000 cable television households and 27,000 viewers. The Miami/Ft. Lauderdale television market consists of Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe Counties.
The highest-rated game of the season was the May 30 matchup against the Pittsburgh Pirates. That game earned a 4.23 rating, representing over 46,000 cable households.
