(Norwalk, CT, April 8, 2005) – News 12 Connecticut was honored by The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences with six New England Emmy nominations at their annual Nominee Dinner in Boston on April 5th, 2005.
In the categories highlighting personal talent, News 12 Connecticut Morning Weatherman, Paul Piorek earned a nomination in the category of "Weathercaster." News 12 Connecticut Reporter Laura DeAngelis received a nomination for "News Reporter," while Reporter David Springer was honored for "News Writing." News 12 Connecticut Videographer Frank Bruce received a nomination for "Same Day Videography." Finally, News 12 Connecticut Videographers Frank Bruce and Mark Sogofsky were each honored for "Same Day Editing."
The coveted Emmy Awards are given by The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences to honor the advancements of creative, artistic, educational and technical achievements within the television industry.

The 28th Annual Boston/New England Emmy Awards Ceremony will be presented at the Boston Convention Center in Boston, on Saturday, May 7, 2005.
