(Woodbury, New York, June 4, 2004) – The Society of Professional Journalists honored News 12 Long Island with a total of 16 Press Club of Long Island 2004 Media Awards. News 12 Long Island took home seven first place awards, five second place awards, and three third place awards. News 12 Long Island veteran anchor and reporter Doug Geed received the prestigious 2004 Outstanding Long Island Journalist Award. The Press Club of Long Island 2004 Media Awards were presented Thursday, June 3, 2004 at The Woodbury Country Club in Woodbury, NY.
Doug Geed does double duty at News 12 Long Island, anchoring the Daytime Edition as well as reporting from the field each day. Doug is also the creator and producer of The East End Show, which highlights the people, places, arts, and culture of Long Island's twin forks. He has been with the station since its inception in 1986.
