(Woodbury, New York, March 24, 2003) – The Radio-Television News Directors Association has honored News 12 Networks with a total of 6 regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for outstanding achievement in electronic journalism. All regional winners automatically become eligible for the national awards competition, which will be judged in early June.
News 12 New Jersey was the recipient of three Edward R. Murrow awards in the Television Large Market region, covering New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The awards were given for the Best Feature Reporting category, "The Parker Clinic", the Best News Series, "Will Lived", and the Best Sports Reporting, "Vintage Baseball". News 12 Long Island picked up the award for Use of Video with the feature "Ride for Life" in the same regional coverage area. News 12 Connecticut received two Murrow awards in the Television Small Market region, which includes all of New England. The honors were for "Courting Controversy" in the Sports Reporting category and "Kiki" in the Feature category.
