(HICKSVILLE, NEW YORK) MARCH 2001 – The Radio Television News Director’s Association has honored News12.com, the official website of News 12 Networks, with the prestigious Edward R. Murrow award. News12.com won for best web site in the Region 11 large television market category, which serves the areas of New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The award recognizes outstanding achievements in electronic journalism and has been in existence since 1971. This year, however, is the first year that web sites have been included as a category. According to the RTNDA, the Murrow award recipients demonstrate the spirit of excellence that Edward R. Murrow made a standard for the broadcast news profession.
