Two Part Special Includes Never Before Seen Photos and
One-on-Ones with Red, Heinsohn, Cousy, Russell and Others
Burlington, MA — At 87 years old, Red Auerbach can still hold court, and as the 24-year home to the Boston Celtics, FSN New England is the foremost authority on Red's tenure as the head of the NBA's most storied franchise.
To celebrate Red's legacy, FSN New England will premier Legend of Red, Part I on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 7:00 p.m. immediately before the Celtics tip-off against rival New York Knicks.
Legend of Red includes never before seen photos from the Auerbach family archives, interviews with Red, Bill Russell, Tommy Heinsohn, Bob Cousy, Jerry West, and comments from Larry Bird, Bill Walton and Wilt Chamberlain. Legend of Red includes classic Celtics footage with calls from Johnny Most. Woven throughout the special are scenes of Red's weekly lunch in Washington, DC where he weighs in on basketball and life.
Legend of Red will air in two half hour specials during the 2004-05 basketball season. Part II will premier in early 2005.
