Rainbow Media Adds, Elevates Senior Executives

Industry Vets Glenn Oakley and Rob Battles Join Rainbow Team,
Greg Moyer and Nora Ryan Promoted

Jericho, NY – October 11, 2004 – Rainbow Media Holdings LLC president and CEO Joshua Sapan today announced the addition of two senior executives and the elevation of two other well-respected Rainbow veterans.

Joining Rainbow from Showtime Networks is 23-year veteran Glenn Oakley, who will be responsible for identifying, strategizing and capitalizing on new business opportunities, as senior vice president, new business development. Rob Battles brings more than 25 years of award-winning experience in advertising and marketing to Rainbow, as senior vice president, creative services. Battles will be charged with the overall conception, development and implementation for advertising, branding and promotion of Rainbow's businesses. Along with these additions, Sapan also named longtime Rainbow and industry executives Greg Moyer and Nora Ryan as co-general managers, VOOMSM HD Originals. The two will lead the strategic development, programming and branding of originally produced content for more than 20 channels Rainbow produces for VOOMSM, the Rainbow DBS direct-to-home satellite service.

These moves come on the heels of Sapan's recent appointment of Dan Ronayne to senior vice president and general manager of Mag Rack. Ronayne oversees all aspects of this popular Rainbow On Demand service, the first television network designed exclusively for on-demand.

All executives report directly to Sapan.

At Showtime Networks, Oakley was most recently senior vice president, corporate strategy and international operations. In that role, he was responsible for developing strategies and tactics for Showtime Networks and its International Division's global networks with a focus on technology trends for the transition and deployment of digital services, and managed the launch and rollout of its HDTV channels. He also served in various business strategy, planning and sales roles while at Showtime Networks.

Prior to joining Rainbow, Battles was president of Rivercoss Entertainment Ltd., where he created programming, advertising and marketing for television and other clients. Before that, for ten years, he was founder and creative director at Crossroads Television. Battles also worked in advertising and promotion at King World, Harpo Productions, Capital Cities/ABC and Showtime.

Previously, as president, regional programming, Moyer managed all operations, strategic planning and business development for Rainbow's regional programming including the MetroChannels and News 12 Networks which, together, are a complement of 12 news, information, and entertainment channels serving the greater New York viewing area. A well-known industry innovator, Moyer joined the Company in January 1999 from Discovery Communications, Inc., where he served as chief creative officer, and rose to that position during a 13-year tenure at Discovery, during which he oversaw the rapid growth of Discovery Channel and The Learning Channel.

Most recently, as senior vice president, business development at Rainbow, Ryan was responsible for its strategic and long term planning, as well as directing business, strategic, and operational planning for Rainbow's developing businesses. Prior to joining Rainbow, Ryan was president and CEO of the Sundance Channel and a member of the channel's founding team, developing its business plan and funding. Previously, as executive vice president of business development at Showtime Networks, she created the business development unit. She also held the position of senior vice president of marketing at Showtime Networks where she was credited with developing one of the most sophisticated subscription marketing operations in the industry, generating record subscriber and share growth, and pioneering innovative promotional strategies and award-winning creative.
