NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA, MAY 6, 2002 — From moms who touched our hearts to those who made us rock, WE: WOMEN'S ENTERTAINMENT celebrates Mother's Day, May 12 with ROCK 'N MOMS, an original documentary offering viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the lifestyles of some of history's most famous female recording artists. As part of the day-long tribute to mothers, the network also presents a movie marathon starring memorable on-screen moms.
ROCK 'N MOMS, premiering on May 12 at 8:00 PM (ET) will explore the feminine side of rock & roll, while revealing the journey of women musicians as they progress from rock stars to mothers who must find and maintain, a balance between both roles. The one-hour documentary will feature exclusive interviews with rock & roll icon, Pat Benatar and her daughter Haley (lead singer of the girl group "Glo") speaking candidly about Pat's success and Haley's dreams to follow in her mother's footsteps. In addition, ROCK 'N MOMS will feature interviews with Michelle Phillips, of THE MAMAS AND THE PAPAS and daughter Chynna Phillips, the duo Nancy and Ann Wilson of HEART, GO-GO'S guitarist Charlotte Caffey, singer Rickie Lee Jones and singer/songwriter Louise Goffin, daughter of legendary singer/songwriter Carole King. During the one-hour special, the ladies will discuss the joys and challenges of fame coupled with motherhood.
Throughout the day, WE: WOMEN'S ENTERTAINMENT will present a marathon of popular films which spotlight the role of motherhood including LITTLE MAN TATE, LORENZO'S OIL, TERMS OF ENDEARMENT and POSTCARDS FROM THE EDGE.
