(September 25, 2000 – Woodbury, NY) Steven N. Weinberg, Vice President of Business Operations for News 12 has been named to the newly created position of Vice-President, Operations for News 12 Networks. In his new role, he will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of all seven News 12 entities (Long Island, New Jersey, Connecticut, Westchester, The Bronx, News 12.com, and Metro Traffic and Weather), including expansion plans, new business development, and sales efforts. Mr. Weinberg will also be charged with all of the administrative and financial functions of the news division as well as manage corporate relationships with Cablevision units, such as Editorial, Technical, Human Resources, Information Services, and Legal.

During his five years as News 12 Networks Vice President of Business Operations, News 12 Networks expanded from a single 24-hour news operation to its current seven operations. Previously, Mr. Weinberg spent five years as News 12’s Director of Finance for Rainbow Media Corporate, where he oversaw all aspects of the network’s financial functioning, including budgeting, forecasting, capital evaluation, contract negotiation, long term planning and new business development. Prior to joining the Cablevision family, Mr. Weinberg was Director of Planning and Financial Analysis for the Private Satellite Network Inc. (December 1986-February 1990) and served for four years with CBS, Inc. Mr. Weinberg is a graduate of Brooklyn College and has a Masters of Business Administration-Finance from New York University.
Mr. Weinberg lives with his wife and two daughters in Albertson, New York.
