(CLEVELAND, OH) – Fox Sports Net viewers across the country voted, and crowned Justin Schweitzer of Mentor, Ohio the 2003 Old Spice High Endurance Guy. Schweitzer competed against 18 other regional winners and won the right to appear on Fox Sports Net's Best Damn Sports Show Period during the week of October 13.
Beginning in August, Fox Sports Net viewers had the chance to witness the television debut of 12 "best of the best" Shower, Sing and Win contestants from the Cleveland area – some may have called them the "worst of the worst" – as they belted out their renditions of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" in a portable shower during Fox Sports Net's live baseball coverage.
Fox Sports Net viewers were then encouraged to visit http://www.oldspice.com to view streaming video of each of the 19 regional winners and to vote on who they thought deserved the 2003 Old Spice High Endurance Guy crown. Viewers were also able to visit the site through September 15, 2003 to enter the Old Spice High Endurance Body Wash Shower, Sing and Win Sweepstakes for a chance to win $10,000.
"I can't believe it," said Schweitzer. "I never thought while I was lathering up in the middle of a crowded bar that I would win the title of Old Spice High Endurance Guy. I'd just like to thank Old Spice and Fox Sports Net for the opportunity to appear on the Best Damn Sports Show Period and belt out my winning rendition of Take Me Out to the Ballgame!"
