New York, NY — August 14, 2012 — Sundance Channel has tapped two top industry creatives for the network’s marketing department. Raymond Dooley has been named Vice President of Consumer Marketing and Evan Fleischer has been named Vice President, Integrated Marketing & Branded Entertainment. Based in New York, both Dooley and Fleischer will report to Monica Bloom, Senior Vice President, Marketing.
“Raymond and Evan are both proven leaders who have a breadth of experience in their respective marketing fields,” said Bloom. “We are excited to have these creative minds bring in new innovative ideas to expand and enrich Sundance Channel as it continues to grow its original programming slate.”
In his new role, Dooley will be responsible for driving the strategy and creative direction for all advertising and promotional campaigns to build awareness, promote tune-in, and drive ratings for Sundance Channel original programming and film offerings, as well as oversee the social media strategy to drive awareness for alternate platforms. In addition, Dooley will insure the clear articulation of Sundance Channel’s brand position to constituencies, including consumers, affiliates and marketing partners.
Dooley joins Sundance Channel from Viacom Media Networks where he was the senior director of Marketing at Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite and TeenNick. In this role, he oversaw the development and execution of consumer and trade marketing strategies in support of all Nickelodeon series and was part of the team that created and launched TeenNick and Nick Jr. Before that, Dooley held positions at some of the world’s leading entertainment and media brands, including Disney-ABC Television Group, Hollywood.com and E! Networks. He began his career as a junior media planner at Initiative Media. Dooley graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
In his new role, Fleischer is responsible for overseeing the brand position, strategic development and delivery of revenue generating, integrated marketing campaigns. In addition, Fleischer will oversee all creative development and execution of short-form and branded entertainment content for the channel.
Prior to joining Sundance Channel, Fleischer served as Senior Partner at MEC Entertainment where he oversaw original content strategy, development and execution on behalf of the agency’s clients. Recent projects include “Fix this Kitchen,” a reality TV series created for IKEA, and “Around the World for Free,” a groundbreaking interactive webseries for AT&T. Previously, he worked as vice president, Marketing & Promotions for IFC where he conceived, developed, and launched the IFC Media Lab, a digital portal for cultivating the best in user generated independent film. Earlier in his career, he worked at FUSE TV, FourFront and was co-founder of The Michael Alan Group. Additionally, Evan serves as Producing Director of the Midtown Direct Rep theatre company, is producer of the Off-Broadway musical “Rated P for Parenthood,” and is producer of the independent film “The Taiwan Oyster” which had its World Premiere in narrative competition at the 2012 SXSW Film Festival. Fleischer graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science in Theatre.
