New York, NY – 21 December, 2010 – Adding to its reach in Asia, Sundance Channel is now available in Taiwan – the result of the latest distribution license awarded to Rainbow Media by the country’s National Communications Commission (NCC). The channel, which was established by Robert Redford to offer audiences a diverse and engaging selection of films, documentaries and original programs, is already distributed in the region in Singapore and South Korea.
Today’s news represents a strengthened offering for Taiwanese operators, who also have access to Sundance Channel sister net, WE tv. Both channels come with proven track records in the United States, where Sundance Channel is available to nearly 40 million households and WE tv reaches more than 77 million homes. Sundance Channel and WE tv first launched internationally last year and have continued to gain traction ever since then.

Sundance Channel and WE tv-via a dedicated MEASAT 3a feed-are available for launch in Taiwan both in high and standard definition, and in English with Traditional Mandarin subtitles.
