BETHPAGE, NEW YORK — The long and illustrious history of courageous and determined women from past generations continues to be an inspiration to countless women of the 21st Century. This March, in celebration of “Women in History” month, WE: WOMEN’S ENTERTAINMENT (formerly Romance Classics) will celebrate the achievements of some of history’s most notable female pioneers as well as contemporary cool women who have overcome obstacles to make a difference. Airing every Sunday in March, the “Woman in History” celebration will present a film along with an episode of the original documentary series “Cool Women,” directed by Debbie Allen, and an episode of the series “Great Romances” which profiles historical women.

8:30pm | Episode of original series “Cool Women” profiling Lia Trandafir and Irinel Cojocaru, advocates for children’s rights and international adoption. |
9:00pm | Cool Women in History Film: Paradise Road – The inspiring true story of a group of women who formed a vocal orchestra in order to survive and even transcend their internment in a Japanese concentration camp during WWII. The inspirational documentary series “Cool Women” profiles society’s unsung heroes by highlighting their inspiring achievements and exploring their motivation. “Cool Women” is produced by award-winning director, actress, producer and choreographer, Debbie Allen.
“Great Romances” recounts legendary love affairs of prominent public figures. The series contains Hollywood movie footage and candid personal films, the majority of which have never been shown before on television.
