Charles & Camilla's Wedding Day: A WE Exclusive airs April 9
at 7 am ET, with a one-hour recap show at 9 pm ET

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, April 5, 2005 – WE: Women's Entertainment announced at the National Show today that it has acquired the exclusive rights to air the BBC1 live coverage of the Royal Wedding on Saturday, April 9. No other network in the U.S. will have access to this live footage. Beginning at 7 am ET (airing through 10:29 am ET), WE has dubbed the special event, Charles & Camilla's Wedding Day: A WE Exclusive. Except for the short civil ceremony, completely closed to ALL cameras, WE will feature LIVE, commercial-free coverage through BBC1 of the entire day's events, including arrivals and a special blessing of the marriage by the Archbishop of Canterbury. The live wedding coverage will encore from 4 – 7 pm ET. This marks WE's second LIVE event in the network's history. WE recently aired Live from the Ladies Room, which featured commentary from actress Sandra Bernhard and celebrity stylist Lloyd Boston, during the commercial breaks of the annual Academy Awards on Sunday, February 27.
WE will also air a prime time wrap-up special on Saturday, April 9 at 9 pm hosted by CBS News Correspondent, Mika Brzezinski. The show will cover all the fashion, protocol, gossip and history of the day and feature footage of the event along with wedding commentary by royal experts including British royal watcher and editor of Majesty Magazine, Ingrid Seward, and best-selling author and journalist, Diane Clehane. The one-hour special will encore on Sunday, April 10 at 11 am, 4 pm and 10 pm and again on Monday, April 11 at 2 pm. (All times ET.)
Following the short, private civil ceremony of Prince Charles and Ms. Bowles, the Archbishop of Canterbury will preside over a religious service at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, which will include a blessing of the marriage. Guests at the blessing ceremony include the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, Princes William and Harry, Prime Minister Tony Blair and members of other European royal families.
