LOS ANGELES, CA, DECEMBER 2, 2002 – WE: WOMEN’S ENTERTAINMENT is partnering with BRIDE’S MAGAZINE, a Conde Nast Publication, for a multi-media promotional campaign combining on-air programming, in-book promotional support, and an on-line national sweepstakes, it was announced today by Lee Heffernan, Senior Vice President, Marketing at the network.
In addition, the network is producing an original special, sponsored by BRIDE’S called “How We Met,” which will premiere in June, 2003 as part of the network’s wedding-themed programming airing throughout the month.
Beginning December 9, WE’ WOMEN’S ENTERTAINMENT will commence the nationwide search for five couples to be featured in “How We Met.” A mini-site on www.we.tv has been created specially for this promotion. Banners and links at weddingchannel.com, and Brides.com will direct entrants to www.we.tv, where couples will be asked to tell the story of how they met, from love at first sight to strange twists of fate. Five couples will be chosen, one from each of five categories (most romantic, funniest, most scandalous, fateful and non-conventional), to be profiled in the special. Viewers will be asked to vote for their favorite couple who will be awarded a wedding registry package valued at over $10,000.
An 8-page section in the July/August 2003 issue of BRIDES, on-stands in May, will profile the five couples as well as drive tune-in for the special.
