Plus Online And Social Extras
NEW YORK, NY – June 12, 2014 – TV is full of sharks this summer so WE tv is treating viewers to a little more ‘snark’ to keep things interesting, entertaining and engaging. WE tv’s first annual “Snark Week” – August 1-8 – is dedicated to the snarkiest characters, one-liners and full series episodes of the network’s line-up.
“There are shark sightings throughout the month of August so we’re giving viewers a break with a fun twist on some biting characters of our own,” said Marc Juris, WE tv’s president. “We’ve successfully launched new show formats and experiential viewing options with our popular WatchIt With and Build-A-Binge offerings. Snark Week is another way to engage audiences and give them a new entry point to watch, follow and like WE tv.”
“Snark Week” launches on Friday, August 1 with the premiere of WE tv’s original series David Tutera’s CELEBrations, featuring exclusive footage of reality star Taylor Armstrong’s recent wedding. The week also includes the season finale of the network’s L.A. Hair where the snark reaches an all-time high as tensions between celebrity stylist Kim Kimble and her diva glam squad continue to climb. The memorable Horatio Caine from CSI: Miami and Law & Order’s Detective Lennie Briscoe take center stage with their biting one-liners while snark-a-thons for Will & Grace and Roseanne round out the week. Finally, a “Snark-O-Meter” on-air graphic will measure just how snarky characters and scenes really are.
WE tv will extend the experience online with Twitter and Facebook posts of the snarkiest moments of the week and the snarkiest animated GIFs on Tumblr. On WEtv.com, viewers can “Share the Snark” by using the site’s meme generator, and catch up on the snarkiest TV characters ever and the evolution of snark through original blogs and listicles.
